Real stories. Real impact. From Columbus to Ghana.
Doozy Crew partnered with Boss Money to craft an emotionally honest brand film featuring Columbus Crew captain Jonathan Mensah and the global impact of staying connected to home.
We told the story of Jonathan Mensah — how he sends support to his family in Ghana using Boss Money, and how that connection fuels his life and career in the U.S.
Boss Money aimed to tell authentic customer stories that highlight the human value behind international money transfers. They wanted to move beyond typical advertising into something more meaningful.
A 30-second story, one window to shoot it.
We had only a short time on the Columbus Crew practice field with Jonathan, requiring careful planning to capture all the footage needed for a 30-second hero spot.
We also needed to script a compelling voiceover that could convey Jonathan's story in under 30 seconds — balancing efficiency with emotional depth, all while working around unpredictable weather conditions.
Start with the person. Let the story lead.
We started with a Zoom interview to understand Jonathan's background and values. From that conversation, we distilled his story into a powerful voiceover script that stayed true to him and wove in Boss Money's role naturally.
On shoot day, we filmed Jonathan on the training field using the Arri Alexa Mini and DJI Inspire 2, capturing cinematic visuals enhanced by a beautiful sunset. We used After Effects for screen replacements and DaVinci Resolve to craft the final color grade.
They wanted to move beyond typical advertising into something more meaningful.
